For patients having high blood
pressure, Yoga might be a plus. Two different studies on hypertensive patients
examined the difference between simply lying on a couch and taking the Savasana
(Corpse Pose). After 3 months of the research, there was a 26-point reduction
in systolic blood pressure (the top number) in patients taking Savasana and a
15-point reduction in diastolic BP (bottom number – the drop is higher with
higher initial BP).
